Who We Help?
Our programs are available to palliative care patients, their caregivers and families who are faced with a life-limiting illness. We also support our palliative care staff and volunteers with the ongoing education required to provide quality palliative care programs and services within our community.
Patients
Programs are available for people of all ages within our community who are faced with a life-limiting illnesses and have received a referral to the palliative care service. Life-limiting illnesses can include cancer, advanced heart, respiratory and kidney disease, Alzheimer’s disease, AIDS, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, etc.
We realize the journey through illness is different for each patient and providing a holistic and integrated circle of caring approach that will meet your physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs is of upmost importance. Through the generous commitment of our donors, our Society works in collaboration with the dedicated Palliative Care Service Team and volunteers in a setting of your choice to provide you with access to the programs required to ensure quality of life in your time of need.

Caregivers
While being a caregiver can be rewarding it can also be extremely challenging, often requiring a great deal of social and emotional support. If you are the caregiver of a person faced with a life-limiting illness who has been referred to palliative care, you can request the support of programs to assist you.

Family
Our programs provide the supports necessary for you, as a family member, to navigate the difficulties that can arise when one of your family is struggling with a life-limiting illness and has been referred to palliative care. With the assistance of our programs, you can gain a better understanding of your family member’s wishes, which can ease the way when there are difficult decisions to make and assist you through the bereavement process.

Volunteers

Palliative Care Staff
Through the generosity of donors, our Society funds education required for palliative care staff. Ongoing education ensures patients receive the highest level of care from the incredible Palliative Care Service Team.
