The Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County welcomes support from community groups wanting to hold events and other fundraisers to help advance the mission of the Society.
Fundraisers vary in size and design, but each act as a reminder of the community generosity experienced in Cape Breton County and, most importantly, enable the Society to provide comfort and care to palliative care patients and their families.
For more than 20 years, dedicated golfers and supporters of the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County have teed off for the annual “Together We Care” Golf Tournament. This day of camaraderie and fun attracts sell-out teams of golfers who bring in thousands of dollars for the Hospice Palliative Care Society, while having a great time on the greens.
What could be better than donning your favourite poodle skirt and bell bottoms and groovin’ to the tunes of the 50s, 60s and 70s? The annual Shake Rattle ‘n Roll for Hospice event attracts more than 400 people for a boppin’ good time. Since inception, the event has raised more than $50,000 to support palliative care patients and their families. The unique events continues to knock the bobby socks off everyone who attends.
Held annually in late October, this culinary fundraising event excites adventurous foodies and satisfied traditional burger lovers while supporting a vital health care partner. With more than 20 restaurants participating from around the CBRM, the event helps to bring awareness to the much needed work underway by the Hospice Palliative Care Society and has raised more than $40,000 to date.
Each spring, the Sunflower Treasures Pop-Up Shop blooms with trinkets and treasures of all sorts and sizes. The amazing generosity of the community allows us to offer a full range of beautiful items to suit every taste. The event, organized and run by a large group of dedicated volunteers, has raised more than $60,000 in support of a much needed Hospice Residence since 2015.
