23 Dec 8th Annual Port Morien Polar Dip
Each year on January 1st, people line the shoreline in Port Morien to watch participating swimmers ring in the new year with a dip in the Atlantic, raising money for the Port Morien Legion and again this year, Hospice Cape Breton. To date, the Dip has raised over $37,000.
The organizers are actively recruiting teams to participate in the 2020 event – and they’ve got a shiny trophy (and more importantly, bragging rights) for the team that raises the most money! Both individuals and teams are invited to participate!
Afterwards there is a New Year’s Levee at the Port Morien Legion, with lots of food, prizes and of course, their famous ‘moose milk’ (you’ll have to attend to find out the secret ingredients, but let’s just say it will warm you up).
